NAIROBI: “If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.” These are famous words from former UK iron lady Margaret Thatcher. And how true. Worldwide, resilience is woven deeply into the fabric of women, and the Kenyan woman is no exception.

Throw her an opportunity, and she picks it and does wonders with it. And as Kenya joins the world in marking the International Women’s Day (IWD) on Tuesday, a global call to align her towards gender parity resonates home with the launch of a promise to anchor the Kenyan woman.
