City police chiefs among 300 officers moved in changes affecting OCS’

All the 13 OCSs have been moved from Nairobi in changes announced by police headquarters.

The changes affect 380 officers of the rank of Chief Inspector from various police units that include Police Airwing, General Service Unit (GSU), Presidential Escort Unit (PEU), Traffic, Dog Unit and the Kenya Police College, Kiganjo.

Among those moved include  Buruburu OCS Johnson Matoke who goes to Sotik on promotion as the Staffing Officer in Charge of Personnel (SOP).

The new Buruburu OCS is Chepkorocho Masai who has been transferred from Kijipwa police station while Stephen Lelei, who was feted for bravery during the Westgate siege, is the new Industrial Area police station boss in Nairobi.

Mr Lelei was the in charge of weighbridge in Busia and he replaces Amos Shamalla who was transferred to Kajiado County headquarters while Ruaraka OCS Amos Ambasa is the new Kayole Traffic boss and was replaced by Isaac Ewaton from Maragua.

Kayole OCS Robert Wabwire was transferred to Busia as the SOP, while former Kondele deputy OCS Abdulahi Abdi Alinur is the new Muthangari OCS to replace Paterson Lipa who has been transferred to Naivasha as the SOP.

Other officers affected include Benus Keino (Riruta), Francis Muthee Gichuhi (Karen), Joseph Kiplagat Cherotich (Huruma), Christopher Wesonga (Shauri Moyo), Bashir Ali (Kikuyu), Isaac Sirengo (Wilson Airport) and Alphonse Ngundo (Baringo).

Officials said those affected were promoted after undergoing mandatory trainings.
