CUE should check other universities

I have been following with keen interest the reported closure of several campuses of the Kisii University by the Commission for University Education (CUE) reportedly after an audit revealed that those campuses do not meet the threshold.

While I may not know exactly what the threshold is, I find it curious that CUE only found a problem with Kisii University. In my opinion, nearly all public and some private universities operate campuses that are very similar in terms of facilities and teachers to those at Kisii.

CUE should also look at the other institutions. I would prefer that, in the interest of fairness, the audit is extended to all public institutions offering higher education and the hammer should fall on all that do not meet the minimum standards for quality education as stipulated in national law and policy.
