Opposition can do more than criticism

Democracy guarantees the freedom to form and join organisations (such as political parties); freedom of expression and the right to alternative sources of information, among others.

In a democracy, the opposition has a great role to play. There seems to be a common misconception in the country and other African countries that the role of opposition parties, as the name suggests, is limited to opposing anything an incumbent government proposes or suggests.
