Kenyan leaders, emulate Obama's statesmanship

President Barack Obama‘s last State of the Union address to America and the world, was candid and will be remembered as one of best speeches by a US president in recent years. Obama, called a spade a spade and did not shy away from reprimanding Republican presidential candidates political remarks. He outlined the threats facing Americans and the world including terror groups, environmental degradation, unequal distribution of wealth and failed states.

While Obama is thinking about the future of Americans and providing leadership by acting as a unifying factor, our leaders are busy engaging in divisive politics. Kenya is far from having patriotic and transformational leaders who can foster development and safeguard the future of citizenry. Obama has restored the US relationship with Cuba, neutralised Iran nuclear threat, championed environmental conservation, initiated Obamacare to ensure poor Americans receive healthcare, improved economy and relationship with her strategic partners. President Obama‘s legacy is without doubt colourful and well secured.
