Are critics of Ruto's mega-donations clutching at straws?

There have been lengthy and aggressive speeches lately over Deputy President William Ruto's eye-popping donations with some proclaiming it's the long-sought smoking gun pointing to ill-gotten wealth. Where does the Deputy President get  20 million to give out in cash donations to harambees in just one week? This is the mystery.

I am no defender of Ruto or any of his riches. Nonetheless, other possibilities can legitimately   explain Ruto's mystery largesse. Forget the Eurobond.
