Kenya: Complaints pile over National Youth Service project

Complaints continued to pile over the conduct of the National Youth Service (NYS) community projects in Tigania East constituency, with claims they had been infiltrated by partisan politics. Villagers in Mikinduri claimed a local politician was using the project to punish rivals by having road works encroach on their land.

There are also claims that youth hired as casual workers for the project in the area were being forced to don reflector jackets proclaiming loyalty to the local MP.
