Kasarani-Mwiki residents protest poor road conditions

Commuters between Kasarani and Nairobi CBD have been forced to walk to and from Roysambu as demonstrators block the Kasarani-Mwiki road to protest against its poor state. Rowdy youths have baricaded the road by overturning a trailer, burning tyres and placing heavy blocks across the road.

As a result, matatus plying the route are forced to drop off and pick pasengers at either Roysambu or Naivas Supermarket Kasarani. Motorbike bodaboda operators are making a kill as stranded passengers opt to make use of the motorbikes at the mercy of the rowdy youths.
