Sofapaka have been ordered to release defender Eugene Asike following a hearing at the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) independent complaints committee. In its ruling made on Friday, the committee found Sofapaka guilty of breach of contract for failing to pay the player his salary for three months. The one-page ruling also supported Asike’s decision to terminate his contract on January 5,2015. “This committee found that the respondent indeed breached the employment contract that it had entered into with the claimant by failing to pay the agreed monthly salary for the months of March , November and December 2014,” read part of the statement from KPL.
