Make peace or leave office, Sonko tells duo

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has warned his two feuding colleagues in the county leadership to reconcile or risk being kicked out of office.

Sonko said Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh must heed the High Court’s directive to reconcile as a precondition to having the criminal cases facing them dropped.

Speaking yesterday in Nairobi, the senator said Kidero and Shebesh had better reconcile soon or forget about Nairobi politics.

Sonko spoke to hundreds of youths who were receiving cheques worth Sh6 million from the Youth Development Fund.

“If Kidero and Shebesh will not have reconciled by the time their case is heard again at the High Court, I will personally lead Kenyans in demonstrations to remove them from office. Nairobi people are not interested in their slap issues but their leadership,” Sonko said.

The senator said if the two fail to reach an out-of-court settlement on the assault and creation of disturbance charges facing them by the time their case is heard on February 7, he will lead Kenyans to kick them out of office.
