Palaver

Former Budalang’i MP Raphael Wanjala is a busy man and does not want all Bunyala District residents bugging him about ‘unfulfilled’ campaign promises. Wanjala told them to channel their complaints to his successor, Ababu Namwamba. He reminded them that in 2007 they expressed their desire for change but didn’t specify what kind. "I urge locals to stop complaining and allow the MP to complete his term in office."0 What magnanimity!

Palaver’s plea is: please send Nikica back home to Kenya.

The Press can account for the absences of some of our leaders in national affairs: Guinea’s Captain Dadis Camara was in hospital in Morocco after a failed assassination; Mwai Kibaki typically prefers hands-free type of management; Nigeria’s Umaru Yar’Adua is convalescing in Saudi Arabia but where is Haiti’s Rene Preval? Can someone tell him his people are suffering and he should at least make a public appeal for assistance?
