Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has appealed to Muslim youths who have joined radical movements abroad to take advantage of the Government’s amnesty and return home.

While hosting Islamic religious leaders from Nigeria, India and Burkina Faso in Mombasa to lay a foundation of a Law University to be built in Makinnon Kwale County, Omar (pictured) urged the Muslim youth to embrace modern education to gain skills, understand Islam better and become competitive in a fast changing society.

“You cannot be a Muslim if you have not studied because you won’t know what you are praying about. Islam is a peaceful religion that embraces education and we are recognised as scholars from the ancient times but not murders,” said Omar.
