Rogo's key ally Sheikh Ibrahim shot dead in Mombasa

MOMBASA, KENYA: Key associate of late radical Islamist Sheikh Aboud Rogo has been shot dead.

The cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim,and three others were killed by unknown gunmen along the Mombasa-Malindi higway en route to Mtwapa from Masjid Musa in the coastal city of Mombasa. The slain cleric had been accused of plotting attacks in Mombasa and Nairobi and was key associate of late radical Islamist Sheikh Aboud Rogo.

On the morning of August 27 last year, late Sheikh Aboud Rogo's car was shot at over 27 times by unidentified people. In total, Rogo had been shot 17 times.

His death destabilised Mombasa, Kenya’s second largest city, with his murder blowing like fire on a windy day through a dry forest.
