Murder case against Ceasar Thiari, accused of killing mother slated for March 4

The murder case against Ceasar Thiari, brother to Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando was mentioned yesterday before a Nyeri court.

Mr Thiari, who appeared before Resident Magistrate John Aringo, is accused of killing his 70-year-old mother on July 27, last year at their home in Kaini village.

Thiari, 40, had pleaded not guilty to the murder charge after undergoing a one-month psychiatric test at Mathari Hospital in Nairobi. On July 28, he told a packed courtroom that he was guilty of the murder, but that he committed the act sub-consciously.

Thiari’s lawyer, Kimani Njuguna, sought for a further mention of the case before a judge for further directions. Next mention is on March 4, this year.
