Kabogo county leaders bury the hatchet

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have ended a stalemate that was threatening to stall county operations.

Mr Kabogo and all MCAs held a five-hour long meeting at the assembly chambers in Kiambu town that was organised by the Assembly Speaker Nick Ndichu where they discussed issues that have been causing a rift between them.

“We were here to actually “pour our hearts” to the governor which we did and forged the way forward,” Ngugi Uiru, the Ndumberi MCA said.

Mr Uiru said they protested being excluded from county affairs and Kabogo promised to involve them in all matters.

Mr Ndichu described the meeting the first of a kind after a prolonged fight between the two organs as fruitful.

“You can read the mood of the members. That tells you we have talked and agreed on the way forward to ensure our county develops,” he told journalists.

Minority Leader Cecilia Wamaitha, said the meeting was a good gesture and urged the leaders to complement each other and not compete.

Kabogo said the renewed bond with the MCAs will be strengthened and termed it as a score to development.
