Several farmers in the North Rift have reportedly received auction notices following loan defaults occasioned by crop failure. Banks and small micro-finance institutions (MFIs), they said, have dispatched auctioneers to attach their property against the loans. Kenya Farmers Association Director Kipkorir Menjo said small-scale farmers were most affected and urged the State to help keep off auctioneers.
