Daystar makes new appointment

Vice-Chancellor Prof Laban Ayiro has picked Prof Faith Nguru as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Research and Students Affairs; Prof Muturi Wachira as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance, Administration and Planning; Prof Michael Bowen as Principal, Daystar Nairobi Campus while Prof Bernard Boyo will serve as Director of Resource Mobilisation, Projects and Partnerships. 

Prof Nguru is a communication professor and immediate former acting Vice-Chancellor of Riara University.

Prof Wachira, on the other hand, is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance and Administration) at St Paul’s University. Both candidates previously served as faculty heads at Daystar.

Both Prof Bernard Boyo and Prof Michael Bowen have been serving as the acting DVC Academic Affairs and acting DVC finance, administration and planning at the university respectively.

The appointments of Prof Nguru and Prof Wachira, the varsity said, followed a rigorous process which began on April 9 when the positions were first advertised. The appointments take effect from August 1.
