Family of slain ardent football fan Isaac Juma gets a new home

The family of slain Kenya’s number one football fan Isaac Juma (pictured) has a new home.

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa handed over a semi-permanent house on a three-acre parcel at Evung'are village in Mumias East Constituency to the widow and her five children.

It was all smiles as the family moved into their new home on the land bought by Barasa even before he was elected governor.

"Juma was my friend. The family was in dire need of help and I thought it wise to act fast."

He urged the area MCA to prioritise Juma’s children when allocating bursaries.

Farida Amai, Juma's widow said her children were on the verge of dropping out of school and thanked the governor for their new home and land.

Juma was killed on January 26 at his home in Mumias West constituency.

His family has been living in fear following threats from the attackers who promised to strike again.

Police linked Juma’s death to a protracted land dispute.
