Walking in some streets in Nairobi has become risky with the increasing number of thieves. While some get away with it, others are not lucky and the consequences are dire.
This is the case of a street thief who was caught on Thursday morning 4 September after he stole a phone from a lady near Jamia Mosque.
In a video seen by Ureport, the thief dressed in school uniform is having a hard time trying to prove that he is a student or which school he attends.
The mob is also seen hitting the man on the face some demanding for his father’s phone number.
A while back, the Nairobi county government formed a special squad that is expected to deal with the marauding gangs that have terrorized Nairobians for a long time now.
The County Government also highlighted the top five crime hotspots in CBD and the peak hours.
The following are the top five crime hotspots in Nairobi;
1. Temple Road
2. Hatika Road
3. Railways Terminus- Hailee Selassie Avenue
4. KTDA Moi Avenue
5. Racecourse Road
The peak hours for the crimes were also revealed as from 4 am to 6 am and 7 pm to 11 pm.
