Ghost Board Members? Woman questions how she was listed member of disbanded Nandi County Health Board

Just a day after Nandi Governor Stephen Arap Sang dissolved the County Health Management Board, a woman listed as a member of the board has come out claiming she was not aware such a board ever existed.

Mrs Chepchumba Chepkwony took to her social media page to protest demanding to know how she was listed as a member of the board adding a new twist to the deep rot in the health sector under the previous regime.

"I didn't know that the County Health Board even existed! And I can see my name as a board member," posted Mrs Chepkwony.

She challenged the county government to produce schedules of meetings or minutes of the inauguration meeting to prove that she indeed was a member.

She speculated that some scrupulous individual could have used her name as a member of the board to fraudulently draw sitting allowances and enjoy other privileges that come with being a member of a board.

On Thursday, Governor Sang dissolved the health board and sub county hospital committees in what is viewed as a radical surgery in the ailing sector.

The new county boss also suspended the Health Minister, Chief Officer and the Director in charge of Health services.
