Church offers to mediate talks between government and opposition

The proposal by church leaders to mediate in talks between the government and opposition over the IEBC is indeed noble.

The demonstrations in the country that have left many injured might worsen if the issues triggering them are not resolved.

The government says it is ready for talks with the opposition but insists that law must be followed.

On the other hand, opposition leaders are also saying they are ready for talks with the government and insist demonstrations will still be there. It’s like no one wants to cede ground.

At least there is hope since church leaders have offered to mediate the talks. A consensus must be reached to end the crisis before it snowballs into worst chaos.
