Flower Farm Workers' CBA to be signed in two weeks

A new pay deal for flower workers will be signed in two weeks, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has said.

Atwoli said negotiations on the collective bargaining agreement between the Kenya Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union (KPAWU) and flower firms were at an advanced stage.

The Cotu boss, who is also the KPAWU secretary general, downplayed a threat from a new rival union. Two weeks ago, the Kenya Export Floriculture Horticulture and Allied Workers Union began registering workers in the sector after a court okayed its registration.

Atwoli said although the issue was in still court, it was clear that KPAWU had the best interests of workers at heart.
