Wine app uses palate test to determine which bottles you'll enjoy based on foods you like

From a crisp Sauvignon Blanc to a smooth Merlot, most supermarkets are jam packed with a range of delicious wines.

If you’re not a wine connoisseur, deciding which bottle to buy can be a daunting process.

But help is at hand, in the form of a new wine app called Pingza.

The app uses an 8-point palate test to determine exactly which bottles you’ll enjoy, based on the foods you like.

Pingza explained: “Here to truly revolutionise and simplify the way everyone buys and enjoys wine, Pingza’s exclusive 8-point palate test is designed to suss out exactly what kind of wines you like – empowering you to always pick a wine you’ll love.”

Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’ll be prompted to complete a quiz to create your personal palate profile.

Questions include ‘“An apple a day”? or do you pick something else from the fruit bowl?’, and ‘When the temperature rises which dessert do you reach for?’

Based on your quiz answers, the app will suggest which bottles you should buy.

And the app will even tell you which supermarkets they’re cheapest in.

Pingza added: “Pingza is constantly updated with what’s new in supermarkets near you so you can rest easy in the knowledge that good wine, every time, is just a tap away.

“Pingza's unique smart filters ensure a tailored recommendation for every occasion, meal and budget.”
