Police are probing the theft of 22 digital literacy programme tablets at Bokoli Primary School.

Trans Nzoia East OCPD Abel Ogulu said unknown people broke into the school on Wednesday night and stole the tablets after tying up the guard.

School head Joash Barasa said the stolen devices were part of the 59 tablets given to the school by the national Government and were yet to be used.

"We had planned to start the digital programme and some teachers had already been trained on how to use the digital devices," he said.

Ogulu said police are following crucial leads adding that boxes in which the devices were carried were recovered in a nearby forest.
