A conference that brings together innovative start-ups from across Africa is set to take place in Nairobi between October 24th and 26th, 2012.
During this two-day meeting, various entrepreneurs will showcase their products from across five categories including consumer, enterprise, mobile technology, social media and cloud services.
This conference is organised by DEMO Africa, the launchpad for emerging technology and trends. Each year over 2,500 people from around the globe attend DEMO to experience innovation at its birth.
During the event, a hand-selected class of new products is introduced to the world for the very first time to global press and prolific bloggers; investors; corporate acquires; strategic partners and buyers. The conference has attracted the attention of mobile service provider Safaricom, which ha thrown their weight behind the DEMO Africa initiative.
It is joined by Africa Development Bank, Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK), US State Department, USaid, Nokia, Microsoft and Infodev.
Ahead of the meeting, stakeholders in the IT industry are pushing for public-private partnerships to support IT innovations across the Africa continent.
“We appreciate the work that the public and private partner organisations have done towards the DEMO Conference that is being held in Africa for the first time,” said CCK Director General Francis Wangusi.
