The county government has rolled out subsidised Artificial Insemination services to benefit local farmers.

Speaking during the launch of the programme at Kabiyet, Governor Cleophas Lagat said his administration was seeking to improve dairy breeds to boost the county’s milk production.

Farmers will get sexed semen, which trades at Sh6,000 in the local market, at Sh2,000.

“Using bulls has made it difficult to control spread of livestock diseases,” said Lagat.
