Thugs raid prison and escape with warder's gun

Naivasha, Kenya: Thugs raided the Naivasha Medium Security Prison where they disarmed a warder and escaped with his gun.

The warder and a colleague were guarding some machinery when the thugs attacked at about 10pm. Naivasha OCPD Titus Munyoki confirmed the incident, and said they had mounted a major search operation to trace the missing G3 rifle.

The injured warder was admitted at the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital, but was reported to be out of danger.

In another incident near Naivasha town, thugs robbed a shop and made away with cash and other personal effects.
