Locked in for life, handcuffs instead of wedding rings

Usually, couples put rings on each other’s fingers while tying the knot. This is symbolic that the two will be tied together till death. By and large, this used to be the case in Kenya. However, lately marriages have been collapsing like a house of cards. Some couples have been looking for the slightest excuse to kill or maim each other. The strings that were used to tie the knots, it seems, have lost their strength.

It is possible that this is why Dennis Kariuki and Cecilia Wanjira decided to go for something whose strength is assured: Handcuffs.

Their wedding was presided over by Nakuru Metro Church Bishop Mike Brawan. But, pray, where can other couples who want to tie a tight knot find handcuffs, Bishop Brawan? [PHOTOS: BONIFACE THUKU/STANDARD]
