Brazilian Embassy to host first film festival in Kenya

The Brazilian Embassy in Nairobi will be holding its first Brazilian Film Festival in Kenya from Friday 18 November.

According to a press release from the Embassy the three-day free festival will be held at the Louis Leakey Auditorium of the National Museum of Kenya.

The festival will be an outlook of the Brazilian cinematographic production in the last decade.

Seven selected movies ranging from drama to comedy and documentary will be screened.

On Friday there will be the screening of the drama, The Two Sons of Francisco while on Saturday there will be the screening of a Vinicius (documentary), Basic Sanitation (comedy) and Line of Passage (Drama).

On Saturday two other comedies, The Marriage of Romeo and Juliet and If I Were You will be screened together and a drama, My Name Ain’t Jonhhy.

Important names in the Brazilian cinema on the screen such as Walter Salles Jr., Jorge Furtado, Breno Silveira and Miguel Faria Jr will feature at the festival.
