Azimio leader Raila Odinga kept journalists waiting for more than seven hours at his Karen residence, Nairobi, on Monday.

Local and foreign journalists camped at the gate of Mwitu Estate, off Kerarapon, where Raila's residence is located from as early as 9 am.

They strategically positioned themselves with cameras ready as they waited for the Azimio leader to leave for the anti-government protests.

But this was in vain as Raila was already at Serena Hotel.

Vehicles including the Azimio leader's security chase cars would drive in and out of his residence.

It was until about 1 pm that the journalists realised that Raila was already at Serena Hotel with Azimio leaders preparing to address the media.

The presser, however, aborted after the Azimio leader was teargassed by the police.

After being barred from the city centre, Odinga and several Azimo leaders including Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka made several stopovers around Nairobi to address supporters.
