Sorry folks, but I just can’t get over charismatic Zimbabwe strongman, Robert Gabriel Mugabe, and the way his brain works. I find it absolutely fascinating that such a leader still exists in the 21st Century. He is the only leader after Idi Amin and the late Muammar Gaddafi that insults very important personalities and gets away with it. And they are not small insults by any stretch of the imagination. Try this at home. Go to Google’s search engine and drop in the phrase, “Mugabe insults”. You will be shocked by the electronic trail. This is a man who has perfected the art of hurling expletives, and making them sound like compliments. He can insult an entire country and get away with it!

In September last year, Mugabe insulted Jamaicans calling them addicts of bhang (cannabis). “In Jamaica, they have freedom to smoke cannabis, the men are always high and universities are full of women. The [Jamaican] men want to sing and do not go to colleges, some of them twist their hair. Let us not go there” said Mugabe during a three-hour  speech in Harare. This is the same guy who was entertained by the late Bob Marley, the self-styled ‘King of Reggae’ in a concert to mark Zimbabwe’s independence. He called Jamaican men “drunkards and perennially hooked on marijuana.” An angry Jamaican lawmaker Christopher Tuft responded: “I think that he should be called on to provide an explanation as to what he meant. It’s inappropriate and, frankly speaking, rude. He should apologise to the Jamaican people.” Mugabe has never apologised.

And in August last year, Mugabe abused former US President George W. Bush and his former British counterpart Tony Blair.  “George Bush is a liar together with (Tony) Blair, you know that he lied on the war against Iraq and now they have turned against Syria. You have seen what Europe and America have done to North Africa, in Libya and now Egypt. They know that Africa has changed, we are no longer the same and they can’t come here anymore,” said Mugabe.

And finally...

Mugabe told rival Morgan Tsvangirai yesterday: “Those who lost elections may commit suicide if they so wish. Even if they die, dogs will not eat their flesh.” Damn!!
