Okay folks, who’s fooling who here? So now preacher and reformed former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga claims he can work with all other presidential seat aspirants except Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and his “Simon Makonde” party (his own words) The National Alliance. Then Johnstone Muthama declares that Wiper’s only way into State House is via a coalition with Raila Odinga’s Orange party. Hardly a day passes and Wiper One comes out refuting allegations that he may have lost his voice and that he is still in a G7 Alliance and might not be available for sharing any kind of orange juice!

And still on denunciations, could all the people lining up to distance themselves from Raila be following the script written in 2007 when one Musikari Kombo pointedly identified the man and party to beat as that of ODM (One Dangerous Man)? Ditto the denials by Musalia, Kuttuny, Ruto, Najib, Karua, Eugene... Do they know something that we don’t? If they can’t themselves unite, how can they keep harping about uniting all 40 million-plus Kenyans?

Dear Ms Bensouda; the last time a certain People’s Watchman entered State House, he bacame the butt of jokes of a certain ugali dish he might have been served. His political career never recovered from the allegations. Then awhile back, IDP resettlement was the issue of the day and our VP was spotted sharing tea with the transitees from a smokey mug! He has not been seen there again. Last week, you dashed in and out of the (very new) tented homes of IDPs. Now some have taken it to heart that you are the solution to their pending resettlement, but to one Molo legislator, you might just find your good self facing our very own magistrate. How could you re-open PEV wounds that had already healed? he wonders. Welcome to Kenya: Damned if you do; Damned if you don’t.

And finally...

In 2004, Ntonyiri MP Maoka Maore blew the whistle on a Sh2.7 billion rip-off that snowballed and sent a PS into self-exile and backed Cabinet ministers into a corner. And several protestations and years later, taxpayers are still paying for goods not supplied and services not rendered. But in Rongo this week, two chicken thieves were promptly dispatched to their maker! Are you sure the scales of justice are balanced?
