A man who conned a businessman of a motor vehicle has been handed a 13-year jail term. Michael Kirwa was found guilty of conning Magove Machonji alias Mazembe the vehicle worth Sh3 million through fake cheques, which were to be cashed at a Commercial Bank branch in Kitale town.

Mr Kirwa appeared before Homa Bay Senior Principal Magistrate Thomas Obutu. The court heard on February 2, 2013, he collaborated with another man to get the vehicle by producing fake cheques worth Sh750,000 each.
