President Uhuru has issued Sh470 million cheque to 9,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nyamira County. He urged Kenyans to shun tribalism and divisive politics.

On Tuesday, Uhuru issued Sh358 million cheque to 7,000 IDPs who were displaced during 2007-2008 post-election violence in Kisii County during his tour in the region.

So far, a total of Sh828 million has been used in both Kisii and Nyamira counties to settle the IDPs.

Thirty three other counties set to benefit from the initiative after Kisii and Nyamira.

Uhuru also urged Kenyans to unite during the August General Election.
