The undated footage captures a composed and reflective Tim Shikalo delivering a sermon to a congregation, where he speaks passionately about the transformation he experienced after salvation. Dressed modestly in a denim jacket and black t-shirt, Shikalo, well-groomed with a full beard, tells congregants about his journey from his old life to a new one in faith. "There was a life that we used to live before God touched us, and we got into salvation. God is saying, Do not go back to the things you used to do. The price that we paid for the spirit being breathed into our flesh, we forgot what we used to be in it. We find that most of our lives are our spirit wanting to grasp what we were before, but the only person who can do that is Jesus," he says in the sermon. "His arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, following the earlier apprehension of Steve Okoth Odek (alias David Bett) on 7th December 2024, who was arraigned and charged in connection with the same fraudulent scheme," the DCI said in a statement. Authorities say the Sh38 million scam involved fake gold purchase contracts totaling over 1,080 kilograms, backed by false assurances of secure delivery, guaranteed collateral, and fraudulent legal documents.
