Infinix in partnership with Jumia launches zero 5 in Dubai

Infinix Mobility, the fast-growing technology brand, finally revealed its new mobile phone on Tuesday after months of hype and speculation.

The global unveiling of the Zero 5, Infinix’s latest flagship model, took place in Dubai in partnership with local e-commerce giant Souq.com, which will stock the phone for its black Friday Sale (Nov 22-25). The device will be sold exclusively on Jumia Kenya at KSH 26999 for Zero 5 and KSH 29999 for Zero 5 Pro.

The launch event - styled under the theme of ‘Stay True’ - took place at the luxury FIVE Palm Jumeirah resort. Over 150 customers and VIPs flew in for the glamorous event from countries including India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and South East Asia. They were the first people on the planet to experience the Zero 5 and witness the incredible quality of its highly-anticipated camera.

Speaking ahead of the event, Global Head of Infinix, Benjamin Jiang, said:

“The Zero series at large has been our flagship product globally by virtue of its innovative features and validates our R&D prowess. It has witnessed brilliant performance in key global markets such as Middle East, Africa, and south East Asia. Our vision is to take smartphone photography to a level where it bridges the gap between amateur & professional photography. With its innovative design, incredible dual camera, 2x Optical zoom and overall performance, the Infinix Zero 5 bridges the narrowing gap between smartphone and tablet, and we believe our new device speaks to the middle Class consumer demand in the Dual-camera smartphone segment.

“Equally we’re very pleased to be partnering once again with Souq.com as part of its White Friday Sale which will certainly benefit Infinix fans.”

The Zero 5 smartphone is Infinix’s most high-end and technologically-advanced product to date. The Chinese company will target a new generation of customers and firmly believes that the Zero 5’s innovative design and features - particularly the camera - will shock the industry and offer Best-in-Class products in the smartphone sector.

Using Android’s Nougat operating platform, the Zero 5 boasts an optical Zoom Dual camera and massive 16 MP front-facing cameras, rear fingerprint scanner and protective screen features.

The Zero 5’s rear dual camera uses both a 12 MP wide-angle lens and a 13 MP telephoto lens, with a 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom, and an f/2.0 aperture. There is also a special Portrait Master Mode that uses an RGBW sensor and multi-frame noise reduction technology to assist users in capturing the perfect hero shot.

But the jaw-dropping feature of the Zero 5 is unquestionably the front camera, or as Infinix has dubbed it, the ‘Selfie Camera’. The selfie cam is a mega 16 MP four-in-one camera - with an LED flash to boot. In a market where the selfie is king and Instagram reigns supreme, Infinix expects the 16 MP front camera to take things to a new level and become a must-have accessory for selfie lovers.

In recognition of the Zero 5’s flawless cameras Infinix teamed up with an award-winning UAE resident artist, known for his captivating photography. The photographer spent two weeks with a Zero 5 in hand snapping a range of https://cdn.standardmedia.co.ke/images using the full scope of camera functions, such as the Portrait Master Mode. In celebration of this technology and artistry partnership, the artist’s exhibit of Zero 5 work was displayed exclusively at the Zero 5’s launch event.

However, the night at FIVE Palm Jumeirah wasn’t just about the Zero 5. Infinix used the opportunity to also launch its latest pair of headphones: The Quiet X.

The over-ear active noise-cancelling headphones were unveiled alongside their Zero 5 sibling and were demoed by those in attendance.

The Quiet X connects through CSR Bluetooth 4.2 and boasts a battery life of more than 25 hours. Coming in colour options of black or silver, they use aluminum rechargeable batteries and weigh just 260 grams.

Holding their biggest event and product unveil to date in Dubai highlights Infinix’s belief that there is huge potential for growth in the GCC market. The Stay True event on 14th November marks the start of the company’s next phase of high-end product development.
