Safaricom has launched a new consumer and merchant promotion that is intended to drive growth of Lipa Na M-Pesa transactions during the festive season. The Lipa Na M-Pesa Shinda Nyumba promotion targets consumers who make their payments using the M-Pesa platform as well as merchants, with prizes valued at Sh118 million to be won. “This ecosystem is enabling an increasing number of payments across various retail outlets, and this promotion aims to reward and appreciate customers who pay for goods and services using Lipa Na M-Pesa this season,” said Sylvia Mulinge, director – consumer business, Safaricom. Three customers stand to win three-bedroom houses valued at Sh14 million, with 18,000 merchants set to win airtime or cash in their tills during the promotion.
