Kenya puts best foot forward at travel fair

By Philip Mwakio in London

The Magical Kenya stand at this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) tourism trade fair in Excel, London, was an instant hit at the annual event that kicked off on Tuesday.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), lead over 50 local exhibitors in showcasing diverse Kenyan tourism attractions, including a replica of the ‘Turkana Boy’s skeleton, which depicts Kenya as the cradle for mankind.

The event, which ends on November 8, provides an opportunity for the country to reassure tourist-rich markets of the improved security following successful capture of the port of Kismayu in Somalia believed to have been harbouring rag tag militia, Al Shabaab, which has been causing insecurity along the coast.
