The Kenya Power confirmed there was a nationwide power outage on Thursday afternoon, November 24.

Their statement came after clients from several parts of the country experienced disrupted power supply from around noon.

"We have lost bulk power supply to various parts of the country due to a system disturbance and we are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible," the statement read in part.

The capital city Nairobi was among the areas affected.

"An update on the restoration progress will be issued in due course," said the Kenya Power.
