If you are planning to move around during Valentine’s Day, then you need to plan your schedule accordingly.

The Kenya National Highways Authority has announced that a section of Muthaiga Road will be closed on February 14 to allow for the construction of a footbridge.

“KeNHA would like to inform the public that Muthaiga - Kiambu Road will be closed from 6am on Saturday, February 12, 2022, to 4am on Monday, February 14.

“And from 11pm on Monday, February 14, to 4am on Tuesday, February 15, 2022,” the highways authority added.

The authority said this will allow uninterrupted construction of the footbridge around the area.

“All vehicles are requested to use alternative routes. All motorists plying the road under construction are advised to exercise caution on the road and observe traffic controls,” Kenha said.

Some netizens have however stated that this comes at the right time when some of them are under pressure to surprise their partners on lover’s day.

“The person who decided that section will be closed on Valentine’s Day is very wise, some of us will escape unwanted pressure that comes with the day,” stated Adams Mark.

His comments were echoed by Rob Maingi who said, “That is good news, even though the bridge that is being constructed is for the rich crossing the road to go and play golf, real players in love matters will have the last laugh.”
