Deputy President William Ruto hosted Kenyan online content creators and comedians at his Nairobi’s Karen office on Tuesday.
Among the popular comedians/actors Dr Ruto met, run a funny online series called Bedsitter Chronicles which is about the struggles of Kenyans who live in bedsitters.
Ruto, who brands himself a ‘hustler’ was entertained after part of the group showcased their talent and left the DP in stitches.
“On Tuesday, we as online content creators held a solid discussion with Deputy President William Ruto on how we can constructively engage and cooperate with GOK on matters touching on our content. Great stuff is coming up, thanks for your support of our fans, we love you,” the Bedsitter Chronicles crew posted on Facebook.
Dr Ruto noted that the online content creation is creating jobs for the youth and has greatly enriched local media programming.
“We are building an enabling environment for content creators to do their thing, especially in the digital space, which is key to creating jobs; enriching local media programming; promoting talent and enhancing the creative economy,” Ruto pointed out.
Other content creators that met the DP included comedy group Propesa, Seth Gor, Jaymo Ule Msee, Auntie Jemimah and creative content developer Terence Macharia aka Kamami.
