The 2022 Kenya National Rally Championships (KNRC) series revs-off in Il Bisil, Kajiado County today.

Most of the local drivers will use the leg to step up their training for forthcoming East African Safari Classic Rally slated for February 10-18 in Kenya.

Among the drivers who will be making a debut in the KNRC series is three-time back-to-back Two Wheel Drive Non Turbo Autocross Buggy champion Zameer Verjee.

Verjee will be navigated  by his long term friend Zahir Shah. The duo will compete in a Subaru Impreza N10 previously driven by Rehan Shah in the autocross series.

“I have tested the car once and it was handling really well. Rehan sold me the vehicle and has offered lots of free advice on how to stay competitive and focused,” Verjee said.

“It’s such a great experience and something really different from what we were used to in autocross.”

The duo will race under the banner of  A-Z Studio Racing team.

“It reaches a point one needs  a breath of fresh air in their career.

“I’m glad that period is now for me,” Verjee said.

“Our main target in Kajiado is to gain experience and keep improving. Regardless of where we finish this weekend, we’re all very excited to work with my father again on this project. I look forward to seeing him out in service.”

Verjee and Shah intends to take part in all the KNRC legs this season.
