President William Ruto has maintained that Kenya's journey towards the realisation of a green economy is unstoppable.

Speaking to journalists after his speech at the COP27 in Egypt on Tuesday Ruto said the country is at 93 per cent green and his administration aims to push to 100 per cent by 2030.

The head of state said the commitments he had signed with partners at the conference are a confirmation that Kenya is well on course towards the journey.

"As a country, we want to leverage technology which is a game changer towards a green economy for cheaper and affordable alternatives. We shall focus on more green industries for fertilizer and green hydrogen for export," Ruto said.

In a few days, Ruto said there would be an additional 10,000MegaWatts of geothermal power to the national grid to affirm the commitments.
