Vet Lab Sports Club player Dennis Musau fired 41 stableford points to lift the third leg of the 2022 Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Corporate Golf Day tournament held at the par 72 Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi at the weekend.

Musau beat the men's winner, Sylvester Odhiambo on countback. The handicap 19 player had a rough ride in the front nine where he scored 16 points but had a roller coaster move in the back nine where he amassed 25 points.

"It's a great victory for me, it's a good motivation for my game. I'm looking forward to lowering my handicap as a result of this win," Musau told Standard Sports.

Musau indicated that his four ball partners were a great encouragement on the course and this blended well with his current good streak that saw him emerge the men's winner of the Co-Operative Golf Tournament held last week at his Vet Lab Sports Club base.

"Golf is a social sport, you play it well when you have good company. My batch encouraged me, they challenged me, and they pushed me beyond my limit. We had a good banter on the pitch," he underlined.

Despite the victory, Musau was quick to admit that he had no elaborate preparations ahead of the event in the course of the week.

"I'm a weekend golfer, today I just went to the range, hit a few balls to fine tune my nerves then embarked on the tournament," he said.

Musau outlines that the sport has granted him lots of benefits, key among them are quality friends, good network and fitness.

"Through socialization I have made wonderful friendships on the course. My professional network through the sport has enabled me to strike great business deals," he said.
