Matasi calls for consistency as Tusker tackle Ulinzi, Mathare host Homeboyz

Tusker goalkeeper Patrick Matasi says he is pleased with the team’s fighting spirit as the defending champions prepare to welcome Ulinzi Stars in today’s FKF Premier League match at Ruaraka Grounds.

The second leg of 2021/22 season kicks off this weekend with leaders Kakamega Homeboyz visiting relegation-threatened Mathare United at Kasarani Stadium.

Nairobi City Stars, KCB and Gor Mahia, will face Nzoia Sugar, Bandari and bottom-placed Vihiga Bullets respectively.

Meanwhile, Matasi believes Tusker, who have been blowing hot and cold this season, have shown team work in not only recent matches but also on the training ground and that will help the team perform better in the upcoming matches.

The brewers have picked 10 points out of a possible 12 in the last four matches.

“Teamwork and fighting spirit was a bit lost but now we can see that it is there. We have shown some great form of working together and compactness. Everyone is working and pushing each other from the training ground to matches,” said Matasi.
