West Africa based, Guaranty Trust Bank (Kenya) Ltd, recently donated 20 computers to Kerarapon Primary School, aimed at improving the quality of education of the pupils at the institution.

Located in Kerarapon area off Ngong road, Kajiado North, the mixed public primary school founded in the year 1922, has 436 pupils and 15 teachers.

GTBank Kenya officials said the lender is committed to creating partnerships for sustainable development while adding value to the diverse communities in which it operates.

“The bank believes that quality education increases opportunities to access a better life. This is why the bank identified Kerarapon Primary School to partner with, in improving the quality of education of the pupils and further improve their chances of accessing a better life in the future,” said GTBank Kenya Executive Director Victor Ezag at a ceremony.

The event was attended by pupils and staff of Kerarapon Primary School, and Staff from GTBank Kenya.

They included Kajiado North Sub County Education Officer Ms Hellen Pundo – Kerarapon Community Development Chairman Rufas Nganga and School board Chairman Joseph Langat Kerarapon.

Others were Rev Elias Maguhu PCEA Church. The bank said it is keen to ensure that all social responsibility projects undertaken are not only targeted towards the needs of society but are also sustainable.

The Bank’s footprints in CSR re guided by the decision to operate on four major pillars – education, health, environment and arts.
