Fairmont Hotels appoints Davide Bertilaccio as General Manager for Kenya

Nairobi; Kenya: Davide Bertilaccio has been appointed general manager of Fairmont Kenya, overseeing the management of The Norfolk, Mount Kenya Safari Club and Mara Safari Club.

"With Davide at the helm of our flagship portfolio, we will continue to build brand recognition in Kenya and leverage our regional footprint into Africa," said Sami Nasser, senior vice president, Operations for Fairmont in the Middle East, Africa and India. "His operational experience in leading markets and destinations will set the groundwork for new initiatives within this collection of landmark hotels."

Davide will be responsible for the performance and operations of three iconic Kenyan hotels, which together comprise 290 guestrooms and suites, 51 luxury tents, and over 10 food and beverage outlets.

He also joins the hotel chain at a time when The Norfolk Hotel  - the Grand Dame of Nairobi - is celebrating its 110th anniversary.

Prior to this appointment, Davide was responsible for the management and rebranding of the Mövenpick Hotel, Casablanca in Morocco. He also worked with the group in 2011, where he relaunched the Mövenpick Hotel, Gammarth in Tunisia.

Davide brings a wealth of experience to this position with a career spanning over 25 years across four continents, where he has held executive level positions within luxury hospitality companies.

He is a graduate of the Travel Institute A. Volta in Udine, Italy, and holds a degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in New York.
