Couple accused of robbing, killing two bodaboda riders now set free

A man and his wife who were accused of robbing and killing two boda boda riders on April 24, 2014 were Friday acquitted by a Maua court.

Patrick Matheta and Purity Mukethi were accused of committing the crime in the company of two others while armed with a rifle at Athiru Gaiti-Maua Road during a hijacking incident.

Chief Magistrate Samuel Soita said evidence presented before court was not enough to put the accused in their defence.

However, the other two alleged accomplices were put in their defence.
