Kabarak University to take on Harvard and Stanford in business competition

Kabarak University has been listed to participate in the regional finals of the Hult Prize global business competition in Shanghai, China.

The university will take on top world-ranking universities like Harvard, London School of Economics, Stanford, Instead, Hult International Business School, NYU, Colombia and American University Beirut, LBS Hitotutsubashi, KAUST and Makerere University.

The Hult Prize Foundation is a start-up accelerator for budding young social entrepreneurs emerging from the world's universities.

The annual competition for the Hult Prize aims to create and launch the most compelling social business ideas - start-up enterprises that tackle grave issues faced by billions of people.

Each year, a critical global social problem is selected by President Bill Clinton and a challenge issued, and students in various learning institutions are encouraged to participate by developing an innovative start-up enterprise.

In addressing this year's challenge dubbed 'Refugees - Reawakening Human Potential', Kabarak will send a team of nine students and two faculty members to present a project dubbed 'K-Hub'.

Winners of the challenge will be awarded Sh103 million ($1 million) as well as mentorship and advice from the international business community.
