Man in custody for kidnapping, defiling two minors

Police in Kenol, Murang’a County have launched investigations into an incident where two minors were allegedly kidnapped and defiled by a man known to them.

Police say the man is suspected to have sodomised the two school-going boys who went missing on Monday evening.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspect identified as Kariuki alias ‘Moi’ was in police custody awaiting arraignment.

“Moi was arrested yesterday after the two boys who went missing from their homes Monday night, narrated their disturbing ordeal,” DCI tweeted.

Police say, the two seven-year-old pupils were found at Kenol's Migingo dumpsite, where the suspect had allegedly disposed them after committing the act.

Caroline Njoki, the mother of one of the victims, told the police how she found the boys after spending the whole of Monday night trying to find her son.

“I found my son together with the other victim at the dumpsite, appearing destitute and in shock before they told me what had happened,” Njoki told the police.

The minors were immediately rushed to Murang’a level V hospital for specialized medical attention.

The suspect was also escorted to the same health facility to for specimen collection from his body.

Investigations into the incident are underway as procedures to arraign the suspect are ongoing.
